Want to stay closer to home?  We have also participated in the Concordia Language Villages 'Waldsee'.  This is an immersion program located in Moorhead, Minnesota.  Summers for kids and winter weeks for adults wanting to immerse themselves in the German language and culture.

Listening

Tune into one of Bavaria's premier news and culture radio station while you work.  Repeating news, weather, sports, and cultural spots every 15 minutes, B5 Aktuell will provide you a good tool to practice your German listening skills.

Are you an NPR type?  Tagesschau provides a more in depth look at local, regional, and international news from a German perspective.  Multimedia technologies allow for a complete look at all aspects of German life.

Living

Whether you just want to know more about the Germanic culture, or you are preparing a visit, you should subscribe to German Life magazine.  Published 6 times a year, articles are directed to the American audience about German history.  Can you read German - or need the practice?!  Then by all means, check out Das Fenster.  This magazine started out over a 100 years ago giving advice to homemakers (Hausfrau).  It is published very month.

Two wonderful sites for planning a trip: There is Frommer's of course with its tremendous daily newsletters.  We use it to quickly search for countries or sights and end up with some great walking tours!  Need a quick check of Hotels, B&B's, or apartments for a long-term stay?  You should consider Venere.com...

Gemuetlichkeit is our choice for specific travel information on Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.  Packed with ideas from subscribers and professionals, this is the site for refining your trip.  The web site is nice; the travel letter is better.
